Dr George Castillo

After completing his medical degree in the Philippines George was a Neurosurgery trainee for 3 years before migrating to Australia.

Since migrating to Australia George has worked at various hospitals including; Westmead Children’s, Gosford, Wyong and Hornsby Hospitals. George has a special interest in Neurology, Children’s Health, Skin Cancer and Aged care.

Dr Jamie Fernando

FRACGP, GP Supervisor, Practice Principal

Dr Fernando completed his medical degree at the University of NSW in Sydney. He has worked as a GP in the Forster area since 2009. He is originally from Gulargambone, and is now happy to be part of the coastal lifestyle with his family. He enjoys all aspects of general practice, including preventative health, skin cancer medicine, paediatrics, sports medicine and Indigenous health.

Dr Jess Michael Crawley

Jess has worked as a GP in Forster since 2022. Prior to this, he worked within the Queensland hospital system, gaining experience across paediatrics, general medicine, cardiology, geriatric medicine, emergency medicine, anaesthetics, and obstetrics and gynaecology.

He holds a Diploma in Child Health and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

Jess grew up between New South Wales and Queensland, he was a teacher before going back to university & studying medicine in Western Australia. Outside of work, he enjoys being a dad, playing sport, music, and spending time at the beach.

Dr Zachary Hudson

Dr Hudson is available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays at Macintosh Medical,

Dr Zac Hudson completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2023 after an earlier career as an engineer, graduating from the Australian Maritime College in 2014. His medical training was conducted at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and has since worked in emergency medicine and anaesthetics in the Forster region. He is currently undertaking his General Practice training.

Zac has a strong interest in holistic and lifestyle medicine and is passionate about preventative healthcare and supporting patients in making sustainable lifestyle changes. He is particularly focused on improving the long-term health and wellbeing of his local community.

Outside of medicine, Zac enjoys recreational and technical diving, underwater photography, and has a professional background in diving systems engineering. He also has a special interest in diving and hyperbaric medicine.

Dr Monica Noble

Dr Noble is available Tuesday to Friday at 14 South Street, Forster.

Dr Monica Noble is a caring General Practice trainee who is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care, and building long-term relationships with her patients.

Dr Noble completed her medical degree in the Philippines in 2018 and moved to Australia in 2021 to continue her medical career. She undertook her residency training with Central Coast Local Health District, and gained a broader clinical experience across multiple regional hospitals in New South Wales. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Child Health from Western Sydney University.

Prior to moving to Forster, Dr Noble provided general practice care to the communities of Scone and Murrurundi. Her clinical interests include preventive health, lifestyle medicine, child health, and geriatric care, with a focus on practical, evidence-based care for patients at all stages of life.

Outside of work, Dr Noble enjoys travelling, experimenting in the kitchen, and seeking out great food spots wherever she goes.

Dr Nay Lin Oo

Dr Oo completed his medical training at the University of Medicine in Yangon, Myanmar in 2010. He brings extensive international experience, having worked for ten years in Jamaica across emergency medicine, family practice & public health settings.

Since relocating to Australia in 2022, Dr Oo has worked as a Registrar in Emergency Medicine & is now continuing his training in General Practice.

His clinical interests include chronic disease management, preventative health, minor procedures, & the management of acute medical conditions. Dr Oo values a patient-centred approach & enjoys building strong, collaborative relationships with his patients.

Dr Matthew Allan

Dr Allan graduated from the University of Newcastle Joint Medical Program in 2023 with a Bachelor of Medical Science/ Doctor of Medicine (MD). He completed his internship & residency at Manning Base Hospital, gaining experience across a broad range of specialty areas including general medicine, surgery, general practice, critical care, obstetrics & gynaecology, & paediatrics.

Dr Bingzhi He

Dr He graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Medical Studies/ Doctor of Medicine (BMed/MD) in 2021.

Since graduating, he has worked across both rural & tertiary hospital settings, including Coffs Harbour Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, & Nepean Hospital in Sydney. Dr Ashivini Thanabalasingham

Dr Crawford studied medicine at the University of New England & began her medical career as a junior Doctor at Manning Base Hospital. She has a broad interest across all areas of general practice, with particular interests in women’s & children’s health & palliative care.

Having recently made Forster her home, Dr Crawford enjoys the relaxed coastal lifestyle & spending time with family & friends. When she’s not working, she loves spending time outdoors with her beloved dog, Hugo, who especially enjoys a game of fetch on the beach!

Dr Thet Htar San

Dr Thet completed her medical degree (M.B., B.S.) at the University of Medicine in Yangon, Myanmar, in 2010. She then worked in Jamaica as a medical officer across several hospital departments before moving to Australia in 2017. After obtaining her Australian Medical Council Certificate in 2019, Dr Thet spent nearly three years working at Alice Springs Hospital, gaining extensive experience in diverse clinical settings.

She has since worked in general practice in Forster and Taree and achieved her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in early 2024. Her special interests include women’s health and paediatrics. Outside of work, Dr Thet enjoys watching movies, playing board games, spending time at the beach, and exploring new destinations.

She has a keen appreciation for nature and loves gardening.

Dr Kay Leen Choo

Dr Kay Leen Choo graduated from the University of Newcastle and attained a BMed-MD in 2021. She has worked in both private and public hospitals across Sydney since graduation, gathering experience in fields such as Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Dermatology, adult medicine and Psychiatry. She holds special interest in the fields of Paediatrics, Preventative Medicine and Mental Health. She enjoys reading, cycling and listening to music in her spare time.

Dr Natalie Chin

Dr. Chin is available Mondays & Wednesdays at 14 South Street, Forster.

Dr. Chin graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2016 and has gained extensive experience working across NSW and ACT in obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, orthopaedics, rehabilitation, and emergency medicine.

Since 2021, she has been dedicated to general practice, serving communities in Gloucester, Cessnock, and at Tobwabba Aboriginal Medical Centre. She enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a keen interest in preventative medicine, chronic disease management, women’s health, mental health, and dermatology.

Dr Chan Myae Thu

Dr Chan Myae Thu is available Tuesday to Friday at Macintosh Medical.

Dr Thu graduated from the University of Medicine, Yangon, and brings a wealth of experience from working across both hospital and general practice settings in Myanmar before relocating to Australia.

Since moving to Australia, Dr Thu has completed two years of hospital training as a resident at Bundaberg Hospital and has undertaken GP training placements in Scone, Taree, and now Forster.

Dr Thu has special interests in dermatology, women’s and children’s health, and preventative medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys cycling, cooking, watching movies, and travelling.

Dr Sanjana Acharya

I moved to Forster in 2016 for what was meant to be a six-month training placement and it has since evolved into a home. Now, with my children in high school, I feel deeply connected to the community, both as a GP and a parent.

I graduated from Kathmandu University and moved to Australia, completing my hospital training at St George Hospital and its network hospitals before training to become a GP. My practice covers all areas of general medicine, including women’s and children’s health, men’s health, Indigenous health, aged and palliative care, neurodiversity, trauma care, skin checks and minor procedures.

I’m passionate about holistic, compassionate care and lifelong learning. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, staying active with adventurous sports, reading and spending time with my children and dogs.

Dr Sam Hoey

Dr Sam Hoey graduated with distinction from Manchester University UK in 2006. She has over 20 years’ medical experience working across the UK and Australia & spent 6 months in east Africa studying tropical medicine & travel health. With a background in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics, she brings a practical and procedural approach to General Practice, with particular interests in skin cancer medicine and surgery, minor procedures, paediatrics, travel medicine and urgent care.

When not at work Sam enjoys an active lifestyle as a part of the Forster community; swimming, riding, surfing and triathlons!

Dr Marike Janse van Rensburg

Dr Marike obtained her medical degree from Stellenbosch University, South Africa in 2006. After this she completed a 2-year internship rotating through most of the medical and surgical specialities. Since then she has worked in Internal Medicine, General Practice, Paediatrics, Haematology and Oncology. She has also completed her Diploma in Child Health and gained medical registration in the UK.

She lived in Montreal, Canada for 2 years before relocating to Forster in 2019.

She enjoys General Practice including Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Oncology.

Dr Monika Schuch

Dr Joseph Tamer

Dr Joe Tamer graduated from the Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 1994. Since relocating to Australia in 1997 Joseph has worked as a Career Medical Officer (CMO) at Forster Private Hospital. He then worked for 5 years in Adelaide at the Emergency Department of Gawler Hospital.

Joseph has also worked as a Medical Director of the Australian Taekwando Team and is a member of the Australian Medical Soccer Team. His special interests include Sports Medicine, Paediatrics, Mental Health and Skin Cancer.

Dr Ellen Millard

Dr Millard grew up in Forster and Gloucester and has always loved this area. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends in the Great Lakes Community.

Ellen graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra in 2007. During her hospital years at Canberra Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, she worked in areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Mental Health, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Emergency before training in General Practice.

Ellen has completed post graduate training in women’s health and also counselling for general practice. Both are special interests of hers. However she enjoys all aspects of general medicine.

Dr Si Thu U (Steven)

Dr Si Thu U is available Monday to Friday at Macintosh Medical.

Dr Steven U (Si Thu) completed his medical degree (M.B., B.S.) at the University of Medicine in Yangon, Myanmar, in 2010. He began his medical career in Jamaica, working as a medical officer across a variety of hospital departments, with a strong focus on Emergency Medicine.

After moving to Australia in 2017, Dr Steven worked at Alice Springs Hospital and also at clinics while completing his GP training. During this time, he also obtained the Emergency Medicine Certificate (ACEM) and the Sydney Child Health Program Certificate (SCHP). Dr Paige Corbett

I graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2015. Following graduation, I worked extensively in intensive care medicine across Port Macquarie, Taree, Newcastle and Sydney before returning home to Forster to commence general practice training. I also spent two years with the University of Newcastle teaching medical students and continue to contribute to medical education through the Yapug program.

My clinical interests include acute medical presentations and chronic disease management, particularly conditions such as heart failure and diabetes. I also have an interest in menopause management, contraception, and Aboriginal health. I enjoy working with patients who are motivated to understand their health and partner in achieving practical, evidence-based goals.

Having grown up in Forster, I am fortunate to have my family close by. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at the beach with my dogs, cooking good food, and keeping strong and active through strength training at the gym. The most rewarding part of general practice for me is educating patients and working alongside them to improve their health outcomes in a sustainable way.

Dr Irsa Farid

Dr Irsa Farid is a compassionate and experienced General Practitioner with special interests in women’s health, paediatrics, and elderly care. She is also passionate about skin cancer medicine and the management of complex and chronic health conditions.

Dr Irsa Farid completed her internship and residency in 2020 in Redlands Hospital Brisbane and has worked across general medicine, emergency medicine, gynaecology, and paediatrics, gaining broad clinical experience in diverse healthcare settings. She has also worked in Alice Springs, (Northern Territory) where she cared for Aboriginal patients with complex chronic health needs, developing a strong commitment to holistic and culturally sensitive care.

She is dedicated to providing thorough, patient-centred care to individuals and families at every stage of life.

Living in  Forster for the  last 6 years , she enjoys spending time outdoors, going for walks, baking, and making special memories with her children.

Dr Agus Priyono

Dr Agus completed his medical training in Indonesia, where he practiced for several years before moving to Australia to pursue a Master of Public Health. He has since gained extensive experience working in both public & private hospitals in the Hunter area (including Forster Private where he worked as a locum).

Dr Samuel Mwakasendo

Dr Mwakasendo has worked in various Australian hospitals over the past 20 years. His clinical experience include working in acute medicine (Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics), Royal flying doctors Service and remote Aboriginal communities in Northern Territory.

He graduated from Guangxi Medical University, China. He has obtained a fellowship with Royal Australian College of General Practitioner.

His clinical interests include: Holistic Wellbeing, Cardiovascular and Respiratory conditions, Kidney Disease, Diabetes, Lifestyle medicine and Acute Medicine.

Dr Mwakasendo is interested in active lifestyle including boxing, gym and fitness group training including bootcamp. He is passionate about photography, music, travelling and charity work. In his spare time, Dr Mwakasendo is a DJ.

Dr Mary Jane Micua

Dr Mary Jane specialises in Women’s Health & Skin Cancer. At this stage, her books are open to patients 15 & older for Skin Cancer & Women’s Health.

She obtained her medical degree from the Philippines in 2001, and subsequently trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Emergency Medicine . Prior to this, she obtained a registration for Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.

Her initial medical training in Australia consisted of gaining experience in all aspects of medicine at St. George Hospital, The Sutherland Hospital and the Calvary Hospital in Sydney. She gained her GP fellowship while working both at the mainstream general practice and at an Aboriginal medical service at the Forster-Tuncurry NSW area for about 7 years.

She then moved to Canberra where she practiced as a GP for three years.

Missing the serenity, simplicity, and the beauty of living in the coast, she has decided to go back to Forster NSW to continue serving this lovely community.

She has post graduate certificates in skin cancer medicine, skin cancer surgery, dermoscopy, women’s health, sexual and reproductive health.

During her spare time, she loves to listen to music, reading inspirational books, playing the guitar, gardening & fishing.

Jennifer Kent

Jennifer Kent is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in sleep diagnostics. A dedicated member of the Australia and New Zealand Sleep Science Association (ASTA/ANZSSA) since 2000, she established and managed the first Sleep Investigation Unit in Taree (1998–2013).

Currently, Jennifer owns and manages the Mid North Coast Sleep Clinic, where she works closely with patients through home sleep studies, data analysis, and reporting.

She also provides comprehensive CPAP therapy support, including mask fitting and troubleshooting, along with counselling for anxiety, claustrophobia, and CPAP intolerance. Jennifer’s extensive knowledge in sleep disorders makes her a trusted expert in her field.

Jeanne Fayers is a dedicated and experienced Sleep Technician and Sleep Coach, with a strong focus on helping patients achieve better sleep health through personalised care and support. As a member of the Australian and New Zealand Sleep Science Association (ANZSSA), Jeanne brings a wealth of knowledge in sleep hygiene, the management of sleep disorders, and the use of CPAP therapy.

Proficient in all major brands of CPAP machines and masks, Jeanne is skilled in interpreting sleep study results and therapy data to guide patients toward effective treatment solutions. Her background in retail management has equipped her with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, which she now applies in her role supporting patients on their journey to better sleep.

Lani completed her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Newcastle and has a passion for sharing her knowledge and love of food. Through nutrition education, Lani supports clients in developing a healthy relationship with food to achieve their lifestyle goals. She takes a positive approach in providing practical advice about eating for good health. Lachlan France

Business Manager

Lachlan moved to Forster from Canberra in 2018 and quickly realised he had found paradise. He has been part of the FTMC team for five years, completing his Bachelor of Business through the University of New England in 2024 before stepping into the role of Business Manager. Lachlan focuses on leading business growth, strategy, and finance to ensure the practice continues to serve the local community with excellence.

Outside of work, Lachlan enjoys staying active — whether that’s playing football or golf, going for a run around the town, or learning new trades so he can try different projects around his house.

Samantha Wagner

Operations Manager

Samantha moved to Forster from Canada in 2016 after deciding she’d had enough of cold Canadian winters & the endless task of shovelling snow from her driveway. Chasing the long, hot Australian summer, she originally left “just for 12 months.” Nearly a decade later, she is proud to call Forster home.

She joined Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre in 2018 as a member of the administration team, where she developed a strong understanding of practice operations & patient centred systems. In 2024, Samantha progressed into the role of Operations Manager & completed her Diploma of Healthcare Leadership through UNE Partnerships in 2025. She is focused on building efficient systems, supporting high performing teams, & ensuring the practice continues to deliver quality care to the local community.

Outside of work, Samantha enjoys spending time with her husband & their red cattle dog, Mervin. She loves running, reading, & has recently discovered a passion for ocean swimming – something far more enjoyable than shovelling snow!

Sue-ellen Faulkner

RN | Nurse Manager

Sue-ellen is an experienced Registered Nurse, Team Leader and Authorised Nurse Immuniser who joined Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre in 2016.

Originally from Tamworth, she began her nursing career at Prince of Wales and Prince Henry Hospitals in Sydney before moving to Forster in 1985. She then worked for many years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Forster Private Hospital.

During this time, Sue-ellen also taught nursing students at TAFE NSW and tutored students for the Australian College of Nursing. She has a strong commitment to nurse education and evidence-based clinical practice, supporting both professional development and high-quality patient care.

Sue-ellen has experienced the best of country, city, and coastal life and enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, and bushwalking.

Melanie Trotter

EN | Nurse Team Leader

Mel has worked at Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre since 2019 and is currently a Nurse Team Leader and Authorised Nurse Immuniser.

Before joining the practice, she worked at Forster Private Hospital and Manning Base Hospital in acute medical and surgical settings. As a practice nurse, her strengths lie in complex wound care management and in ensuring positive outcomes for all patients.

Mel supports the practice team through ongoing professional development and clinical upskilling, and she loves helping patients achieve better healthcare experiences. She is also fortunate to work alongside her daughter at the practice.

Outside of work, Mel enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, which provides the perfect balance to her busy work week. Travelling is also a must for her.

Jeanette Clarke

Registered Nurse

Jeanette has been nursing for 56 years working across many different areas of expertise. She spent 44 years working in hospitals and has loved the past 7 years in general practice.

Jeanette enjoys the variety of work and especially values the interaction with patients. Mothers and babies remain her favourite patients, and knowing she is helping people is what continues to motivate her as a nurse.

Outside of work, Jeanette stays busy looking after her three grandchildren two days a week, including school drop-offs and pick-ups. She keeps active with Pilates twice a week, personal training once a week, and regular gym visits. She also loves reading, travelling and catching up with friends. She wouldn’t have life any other way!

Felicity is a dedicated nurse at FTMC with a strong passion for primary care and improving the health and wellbeing of her community. She takes pride in making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives through compassionate, person-centred care.

Outside of work, Felicity enjoys spending quality time with her family, bushwalking, jet skiing, and exploring and travelling to new places.

Conny Schuller

Registered Nurse

Conny has over 50 years of nursing experience working across many different clinical areas. Her career has included general nursing across three different countries, midwifery, early childhood nursing, women’s health nursing, and immunisation.

General practice nursing has allowed Conny to bring all of this experience together in one role, making it the ideal place for her to practice and continue delivering excellent patient care.

Sandy Harland

Enrolled Nurse

Sandy spent 17 years as a paramedic before transitioning into nursing, and caring for people remains at the heart of everything she does. While the role has changed, her passion has not. She loves working with the team at FTMC and being part of a supportive, dedicated group who genuinely care about their patients and each other.

A proud mum and grandma, Sandy treasures family time above everything. When she’s not in scrubs, you’ll usually find her travelling in the van, casting a fishing line, or simply soaking up life with the people she loves most.

Brenda Reynolds

Registered Nurse

Brenda grew up in Newcastle and is a proud Novocastrian. She completed her Registered Nurse training at Royal Newcastle Hospital in the early 1980s, followed by her Midwifery Certificate at The Mater and John Hunter Hospital.

In 1998, Brenda moved to Forster, where she worked at Forster Private Hospital for 19 years across medical, surgical, palliative care, and rehabilitation services. For the final ten years of her time there, she held the role of Day Surgery Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Brenda joined Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre in 2017 and truly loves being part of such a supportive and friendly team.

Her professional interests include childhood immunisations, wound care, assisting with excisions, and continuing to learn about specific skin lesions.

Outside of work, Brenda is generally a homebody who enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She also loves travelling, going on cruises, and capturing special memories through photography.

 

Hannah Fiene

Registered Nurse

Hannah is a Registered Nurse with hospital experience across medical, surgical, and palliative care. She transitioned into general practice nursing to broaden her clinical skills, build stronger long-term relationships with patients, and achieve a better work–life balance.

Outside of work, Hannah enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, and unwinding at home with her dog.

Tayla Trotter

Registered Nurse

Tayla is a Registered Nurse who has been practising since 2019 across both hospital and primary care settings. She completed her Diploma of Nursing at TAFE before earning her Bachelor of Nursing from Charles Sturt University.

Her hospital experience includes cardiac, stroke, and general medicine nursing in Taree, as well as respiratory, immunology, and infectious disease care at John Hunter Hospital. She later transitioned into general practice in Newcastle before returning to Forster to join the team at Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre.

Tayla has recently completed her Nurse Immuniser qualification and has a special interest in childhood immunisations, child and family health, and wound care.

Outside of work, Tayla enjoys spending time with her family.

Janet Felton

Administration Team Leader

Janet moved to Forster in 2001 with her family for a sea change, embracing the lifestyle and community the region offers. Prior to relocating, she worked in a medical practice in Windsor for 15 years before commencing at Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre in 2002.

Over the years, Janet has witnessed remarkable growth within the practice. What began as a single site in Forster with just four doctors, two nurses, a practice manager and six administration staff has expanded into the large, multi-site and community centred team it is today. Janet has valued being part of a family-friendly and caring healthcare environment building many lasting friendships with both colleagues and patients.

Outside of work, Janet enjoys spending time with her family, attending book club, walking, and dining out in our beautiful town.

Jodie Cremin

Administration Team Leader

Jodie moved to the Great Lakes region in 2007 and became part of the Administration Team at FTMC in 2011. Over the years, she has progressed into a Team Leader role, where she is passionate about developing a strong, cohesive team, refining processes to improve efficiency, and fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture.
Outside of work, Jodie enjoys camping adventures, relaxing at the beach with a good book, travelling, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her much-loved fur baby.
