Dr Wong graduated from the University of Sydney and obtained clinical experience in various public and private hospitals across Sydney.
Previously a registered nurse in Hong Kong, he came to Australia to pursue a life in medicine and its values.
He is currently a GP registrar. He enjoys all aspects of general practice and his special interests are chronic disease management, paediatrics and dermatology. He is a holder of Certificate of Sydney Child Health Program and is passionate about providing holistic care.
He has a habit of taking photos of every cat he comes across.
Dr Kia Watt

Dr Kia grew up in the Manning Valley. After graduating from Griffith University, she returned to the area to complete her hospital training at Manning Base Hospital, gaining clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, emergency medicine, psychiatry, as well as general medicine and general surgery.
Dr Kia’s areas of interest include women’s health and paediatrics, and she has a strong focus on preventative medicine.
Outside of medicine, she loves spending time with her family and friends, travel, good food, the beach, kayaking, and camping.
Dr Paige Corbett

I graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2015. Since graduation, I have spent most of my career working in intensive care medicine in Port Macquarie, Taree, Newcastle and Sydney, before moving back to Forster to begin general practice training. I spent 2 years working at the University of Newcastle teaching medical students and continue to teach into the Yapug program (a bridging course for Indigenous students to enter medicine).
I have an interest in preventative health, chronic disease management, indigenous health and acute medicine.
I grew up in Forster and all of my family are located here. I enjoy going to the beach with my dogs, keeping strong and active at CrossFit, spending time with friends and family and cooking (and eating) nice foods! I find educating people about health and working with them to help achieve their goals the most rewarding part of my job and general practice.
Dr Jess Michael Crawley
Jess completed his internship and residency at Caboolture hospital in QLD were as a junior doctor he gained experience in a wide variety of disciplines including paediatrics, general medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, anaesthetics, Emergency medicine and cardiology. He has worked in GP practices within Forster over the past two years and has completed a diploma of child health through the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
Jess was a teacher before going back to university to complete his medical degree. Outside of work Jess enjoys sport, music and time with his family.
Dr Irsa Farid

Dr. Irsa graduated from Pakistan and worked in Emergency Medicine and surgery before immigrating to Australia. She has worked in Greenslopes and Redland hospitals in the Greater Brisbane region in Medicine, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics and Mental Health. She achieved her Fellowship in 2023 and has been working in Forster since 2021, most recently in Tobwabba Aboriginal Medical Centre.
She is passionate about General Practice with keen interest in Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Aged Care.
Dr. Irsa has lived in Forster with her young family for over 3 years and enjoys the coastal lifestyle. She enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Dr Joel Chai
GP Registrar
Dr Joel graduated from Western Sydney University and has trained across Blacktown, Mount Druitt and Bathurst hospitals. He has clinical experience in paediatrics and adult medicine, obstetrics and gyneacology, intensive care medicine and also emergency medicine .
He is currently a GP registrar and his clinical areas of interest are paediatrics, preventative and emergency medicine.
Dr Joel is passionate about travel, trying out different cuisines and plays soccer and basketball in his free time.
Dr Agus Priyono

Dr Agus completed his medical training in Indonesia, where he practiced for several years before moving to Australia to pursue a Master of Public Health. He has since gained extensive experience working in both public & private hospitals in the Hunter area (including Forster Private where he worked as a locum).
Dr Priyono has now transitioned into General Practice, bringing his diverse medical background to our team. You can find Dr Agus Monday, Tuesday, Thursdays & Fridays at our South Street clinic.
Dr Garry Clemensen

Garry completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales and has been with FTMC for the past 20 years. He has a passion for General Practice and loves living and working in the Great Lakes area.
Garry is a GP supervisor for the GP Synergy General Practice Training program and is instrumental in the training, development and supervision of FTMC registrars. Garry’s special interests are; Men’s Health and Wellbeing, Sporting Injuries and Paediatric Care.
Dr Sanjana Acharya

Sanjana graduated from Kathmandu University in 2006.
Since migrating to Australia she has worked at St George Hospital, The Sutherland Hospital at Southern Sydney.
Dr Acharya has had the opportunity to work in General Practice with communities at Albury, Griffith and Gloucester.
Dr Acharya has also worked in Emergency, ICU, Paediatrics, Geriatrics, Orthopaedics and D & G Units during Hospital rotations.
She is enjoying all aspects of General Practice. Coming from the land of the Himalayas she is loving the area and the coastal lifestyle.
Dr George Castillo

Dr George Castillo is not taking on any new patients, this includes patients who see another GP at Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre.
After completing his medical degree in the Philippines George was a Neurosurgery trainee for 3 years before migrating to Australia.
Since migrating to Australia George has worked at various hospitals including; Westmead Children’s, Gosford, Wyong and Hornsby Hospitals. George has a special interest in Neurology, Children’s Health, Skin Cancer and Aged care.
Dr Samantha Hoey

Dr Sam graduated with distinction from Manchester University UK in 2006. She has loved living and working in Australia for the last 10 years. Having spent several years working in Critical Care; Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics, she now enjoys the change of pace and the variety of General Practice.
Sam spent 6 months in east Africa studying Tropical Medicine and Travel Health, a particular interest of hers; as well as Women’s Health, Paediatrics, Skin Cancer surgery and other minor procedures.
When not at work Sam enjoys an active lifestyle as a part of the Foster community; swimming, riding, surfing and triathlon!
Dr Marike Janse van Rensburg

Marike obtained her medical degree from Stellenbosch University, South Africa in 2006. After this she completed a 2-year internship rotating through most of the medical and surgical specialities. Since then she has worked in Internal Medicine, General Practice, Paediatrics, Haematology and Oncology. She has also completed her Diploma in Child Health and gained medical registration in the UK.
She lived in Montreal, Canada for 2 years before relocating to Forster in 2019.
She enjoys General Practice including Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Oncology.
Dr Samuel Mwakasendo

Dr Mwakasendo has worked in various Australian hospitals over the past 20 years. His clinical experience include working in acute medicine (Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics), Royal flying doctors Service and remote Aboriginal communities in Northern Territory.
He graduated from Guangxi Medical University, China. He has obtained a fellowship with Royal Australian College of General Practitioner.
His clinical interests include: Holistic Wellbeing, Cardiovascular and Respiratory conditions, Kidney Disease, Diabetes, Lifestyle medicine and Acute Medicine.
Dr Mwakasendo is interested in active lifestyle including boxing, gym and fitness group training including bootcamp. He is passionate about photography, Dj-ing, music, travelling and charity work.

Monika graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1987, and has been practicing with FTMC since 1988. She has special interests in Women’s Health and General Wellbeing, General Medicine and Skin Conditions.
Dr Joseph Tamer

Joseph graduated from the Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 1994. Since relocating to Australia in 1997 Joseph has worked as a Career Medical Officer (CMO) at Forster Private Hospital. He then worked for 5 years in Adelaide at the Emergency Department of Gawler Hospital.
Joseph has also worked as a Medical Director of the Australian Taekwando Team and is a member of the Australian Medical Soccer Team. His special interests include Sports Medicine, Paediatrics, Mental Health and Skin Cancer.

Dr Ellen Millard

Dr Ellen Millard has closed her books and is unable to take on any new patients.
Ellen grew up in Forster and Gloucester and has always loved this area. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends in the Great Lakes Community.
Ellen graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra in 2007. During her hospital years at Canberra Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, she worked in areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Mental Health, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Emergency before training in General Practice.
Ellen has completed post graduate training in women’s health and also counselling for general practice. Both are special interests of hers. However she enjoys all aspects of general medicine.
Dr Si Thu U (Steven)

Dr Steven U (Si Thu) graduated from the University of Medicine, Yangon, Myanmar (Burma) and attained M.B., B.S. in 2010. He then moved to the Caribbean and worked as a medical officer in Jamaica, across various departments, mostly in Emergency Medicine.
Steven migrated to Australia in 2017 and subsequently worked at Alice Springs Hospital for almost 3 years and CAAC Indigenous Clinic for a year. During that time, he also attained an Emergency medicine certificate (ACEM) and a Child health certificate (SCHP).
After receiving the fellowship of RACGP in early 2022, he came to Forster to enjoy a coastal lifestyle with his family. His areas of clinical interest include Emergency Medicine, Child Health, Sexual and Mental Health, Chronic disease management and Indigenous Health. He enjoys his free time reading, swimming, hiking, and travelling to new places.

Dr Ashivini Thanabalasingham

Ashivini completed her medical degree in Lithuania (2012), prior to working in Ireland and Australia. She has worked in hospital rotations across QLD and NSW, including emergency medicine, general surgery and various subspecialties within general medicine.
She enjoys general practice and has interests in the field of dermatology, women’s health, chronic disease management and aged care.
In her spare time, she enjoys travel, arts and time spent with her family.
